Taken in rural Lithuania, Rimaldas Viksraiti's black and white photographs present situations which are more staged than they are scenes of everyday life. Viksraitis directs people and even invites animals such as a cockerel, a goat, a stork or a horse, to take part in performance art for the camera. Objects play a vital role. They are something more than props used by the photographer to sketch in a symbolic dimension to the solo theatre being played out in front of  the viewer.
