Trine Sondergaard photographed prostitutes on their beat near the Copenhagen train station. With honesty and respect, her photos depict the conditions under which these women on the fringes of society pursue their occupation, the sale of their bodies for very little money. They take drugs and their children are taken away from them. Now That You Are Mine, however, is more than a report on one aspect of society. It's a research project about the situation of these women in general, about their struggles and their passions. The book doesn't stop at showing what reality looks like, but looks into the subject more deeply, posing the questions: What does this life between happiness and degradation really feel like? What differentiates these women from others? What remains from one's innermost desires and love when her body is sold? How does the survival instinct work and what happens to sexuality?
