Wim DelvoyeseXrays

With the help of a radiologist, Delvoye had several friends paint themselves with small amounts of barium and perform explicit sexual acts in medical x-ray clinics. When he was not an active participant, Delvoye observed from a computer screen in another room, allowing the subjects enough room to perform uninhibited,  although Delvoye has descibed the whole experience as "very medical, very anti-septic." The pages are transparent, but with a white page underneath they are clear to see, as shown in the photos below, which creates a very playful experience: well designed by Maria Rebelo Lopes.

Published on the occasion of the exhibition at Beaumont Public in Luxembourg, June 29th to October 5th 2002. 

German text by Peter Bexte "Die Göttliche Komödie der seXrays," and another in French Olivier Goetz "seXrays de Wim Delvoye: Un rayon de bonheur." Includes a separate booklet bound with plastic with the English translations of these texts.

Spiral bound under publisher's hardcover, 30,5 x 22,5 cm. Guards in rubber and reproductions on acetate of the 25 cibachromes on aluminum (X-rays). Original edition, limited to 220 copies. Very small tear on the bottom corner of the spine (see photos) otherwise in excellent condition.
