Nobuyoshi Araki, born in 1940, is a japanese photographer which focuses on erotism in the post-war Japan society, where the body of the woman was shameful and taboo, showing the true nature of something that tries to be hidden and controlled.

In order to break free from this realm of sexual complexes and denial, he decided to start taking crude pictures of women exposing parts of their body in still postures contrasting with everyday life photographies reminding bodies, as a protest against censorship.

Hardcover under dust jacket and obi, 30,6 x 23,2cm. In very good condition.
