Eiko Yamazawa, one of the pioneers of female photography in Japan, studied photography after graduating from Joshibi University of Art and Design. Upon returning to Japan, she opened a photo studio in the Dojima Building in Osaka. After graduation, she primarily focused on commercial and portrait photography but retired from commercial work in 1960.
After retiring from commercial photography, Yamazawa began to focus on abstract still life photography, and his interest in this field intensified during the 1970s. This book features 57 of his works, created between 1974 and just before the book's publication.
