Man cannot live by himself. Neither can he live in one isolated village alone. At the same time, man cannot live without having relations with other countries. In order to live with other people man must get to know others. This is the way to a better life. This book is published in the hope it will help people to understand other people. It shows Japan and the Japanese people living in a remote part of Japan. However, this book is not intended to show a representative section of the back coast of Japan. Relatively speaking, the book intends to cover aspects of this part of Japan which are not understood by most people. To say definitely, "This is Japan" is to invite wrong impressions. However, I feel I can definitely say, "This too is Japan".
