" I've been collecting bits and pieces that would normally be thrown out after a job on building sites. Some of the items like sticks I've used to stiru paint build up layers of colours and represent slow accumulation of coats, also paint layers peeled from kettles (what we call pots) again built over time and use, the paint becomes a mould of the vessel. All these things I've collected and photographed in a makeshift studio. These are residual artefcts of the work that I've documented. The book itself is distressed wallpaper (decorators lining paper)."
