Zuza Kepa is a visual artist working primarly with image making, ranging from photography and print to non-narrative video art. She also works with audiovisual installation, usually to accompany/expand the experience of her image based works.
The majority of her work deals with food, decay, sexuality and femininity. Her interest in food developed from the ongoing experimentation with cake sculpture and seeking ways of translating the act of eating into an aesthetically curated experience.
The work she produces aims at being provokative and sometimes uncomfortable to the viewer, at the same time emphasizing her interest in exploring and empowering the historically supressed female sexuality, and the alternative, unconventional feminist positions.
