The Green Mantle (1970) is a collection of photographs by Japanese photographer KazukoHamachi. She began her career under the supervision of Eiko Yamazawa, a pioneer of prewarJapanese photography. She then became her collaborator and helped her with her photographs, exhibitions and publications. This book is the first one by Hamachi, it revolves around the motif of the toys and dolls. This subject is precious to the photographer, who had a multitude of toys in her house. With this book, she wanted to convey the joy and appreciation she had for them, and create a magic world of imagination and fairy tales.
