Shomei Tomatsu's Camp OKINAWA presents a series of images which portrays Okinawa, primarily its base culture from 1968-2008. Photographed over a 40 year period, this publication contains images that depict the changed social and physical landscape of the island. From Naha to Kadena, Tomatsu's images illustrate a unique portrait of a culture born from the American military presence; which vividly portrays the hybridity of Okinawa as well as its social separation and 'Otherness' found within Japan from the rest of the country.

Softcover under dust jacket, 240 x 265 mm. Obi is missing. First edition, 2010. Some wears on jacket otherwise in very good condition.
