This release by Wides Shuppan - part of Araki’s “Photo-Mad Old Man” series - consists of an intimate, affectionate photographic record of Araki’s daily life, taken in August 2017. Street-snaps taken from within a taxi or photographs of mutilated (sex-) toys in his house are in free exchange with scenes from one of Araki’s many exhibitions, pictures of nude models posing for him in hotel rooms, images of TV screens (showing a program featuring Araki) and photographs taken from Araki’s terrace in Tokyo. The images are rapid, playful and unrestrained, and form a comprehensive self-documentation/photographic diary of Araki’s daily life, filtered through his own eyes.
