Paul was born in York, England in 1979. He began working as a photographer in 1998 and moved his business to Hong Kong in 2005.
For his personal work , he often uses fast 35 mm black and white film with mechanical camera gear; the compact size and manual operation of this equipment allows photos to be captured quickly and instnctively in a wide variety of conditions. The techniques he uses for exposing, developing and printing negatives often give his photograhs a gritty and high-contrast look.
